About the Bride
Mandy grew up in Anchorage and is a kindergarten teacher at Kincaid Elementary. When she is not spending hours reading Mailbox Magazine for Kindergarten or creating SmartBoard lessons, she enjoys going to TurboKick and Zumba classes with friends, and Latin dancing with Chris. Mandy and Chris are both on the Alaska Dance Promotions' Open Dance Salsa Team. She also has a crafty/techy side and enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, creating photobooks and slideshows/movies, attending plays and musical performances, and eating out with friends.
About the Groom
Chris also grew up in Anchorage. He graduated May of 2010 with the degree in Construction Management and currently works for Klebs Mechanical as the project manager. After taking Wine Appreciation at the university (yes, it was for credit!), Chris claims he is a wine connoisseur. Chris enjoys discussing politics, going fishing, outdoor activities, watching live theater, and taking Latin dance lessons with Mandy.
How We Met
Chris and Mandy first were introduced by Casey Crown at the Alpha Phi Omega Alpha Zeta Eta chartering ceremony on Nov. 16, 2006 at the University of Alaska Anchorage Wolf Den. It wasn't until the summer of 2007 when they began to communicate through Facebook. Chris claims Mandy was Facebook stalking him, but she claims she was recruiting new members for Alpha Phi Omega, the community service organization she is an advisor for. You be the judge. ;-) They then met again when Mandy invited Chris on a fellowship hiking Flat Top.
