Ophelia Yan, Maid of Honor
- Ophelia "Ophie" is Mandy's younger, and only, sister. She currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her pup and works as the HR Administrator for a local sustainable real estate developer. Ophelia and Mandy spent their time growing up playing pranks on each other, and bossing each other around (Nessa helped). While the two of them are extremely different in personality, the two have grown closer over the years because of their common interests (whether it be scrapbooking, volunteering, being foodies, etc.). Ophelia always admired her sister for her creativity and hard work ethic, and typically tried to follow in her big sister's footsteps (like taking Mandy's art projects and writing "Ophelia" on them or copying whatever she was doing). Ophelia is proud to call Mandy her sister.
Nessa Livingston, Bridesmaid
- Nessa is the cousin of the bride, but grew up closely together with Mandy and Ophie like sisters. She is an optometrist in Bellevue, Washington. In addition to checking eyes and chatting with patients, she loves traveling to see her friends and family, spoiling her rescue dog, Teddy and is currently making plans for her own wedding in Seattle to her wonderful fiancée, Dustin.
Victoria Shore, Bridesmaid
- Victoria is Chris's sister. She currently lives in Rye, New York and works as a baker at the Westchester Country Club. She studied baking and pastry at Southwestern Oregon Community College. During her free time, she enjoys reading, writing, drawing, and painting.
- Lisa is the Mandy's best friend from high school. She is a proud mother of three beautiful children and resides in Oregon with her husband. On top of being a fabulous mother, Lisa also works with the Cub Scouts and enjoys cooking and running. Anytime Mandy is in Oregon, the two make an effort to see one another, even if it's a quick "hello" at the airport!
- Lynda is Mandy's friend from college and 5:30am Turbo Kick buddy at the gym. She is also an adviser for the community service organization at the university, Alpha Phi Omega. Lynda also works for the university as the Student Success Coordinator in the Allied Health Services Department. She is talented in arts and crafts as well as baking delicious desserts like white chocolate cheesecake!
Joel Ainsworth, Best Man
- Joel met Chris through Lamda Chi Alpha at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Joel spent the first 18 years of his life, traveling the world as a "military brat." At 19, he joined himself, serving in the U.S. Army an Infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division. Joel graduated from the University of Alaska with a dual degree in Economics and Justice. He currently works for Northern Economics in Anchorage.
- John and Chris met through Lambda Chi at the University of Alaska Anchorage. John doesn’t even really like Chris that much, but John is a sucker for an open bar (there better be an open bar at the reception). John currently works as a health program manager for the State of Alaska. In his free time, John enjoys fly fishing, automotive repair, and watching C-SPAN.
Colin Sullivan, Groomsman
- Colin met Chris while attending UAA, and became friends and brothers in Lamda Chi Alpha. After Colin got his BSN, he and his wife moved to Oregon and started a family of our own. Their son Quinn will be two in March and their son Wyatt was born on December 5th. Colin and Nicole continued to keep in touch with the bride and groom and met the bride when they vacationed here a few years ago. Nicole, Colin's wife immediately said, "This is the one-I can tell, she is pretty, smart and polite.” She is always right!
Bruce Miller, Groomsman
- I met Chris ten years ago when he came to work at Control Contractors in the warehouse. We worked together for about 4 years and had many conversations about what he needed to do with his life. I was very proud of Chris when he enrolled at UAA. He was taking on a huge challenge to work full time and attend classes he needed. He stuck with it and succeeded. One of my favorite stories of his academic years was the time he was a player in the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Mad Myrna’s. We all laughed till our sides hurt. What a calling. I retired in 2007 while he was still in school and moved to Spokane Washington. My wife and I travel back to Alaska at least a couple of times a year to visit all our relatives and friends from this area. Since retiring, we travel a bit, work on our house and landscaping.
Ashley and Mika James, Flower Girls
- Ashley and Mika are the beautiful daughters of the bride's friends, Lisa and Conrad James. Ashley loves math and loves to sing. Mika loves Barbies and fishing with her dad. Both of the girls love family trips, especially trips camping on the Oregon coast.
Kavyn Van Sant, Ring Bearer
- Kavyn is the handsome son of the bride's friends, Katie and Kyle Van Sant. Kavyn is also a big brother. He enjoys the movie Toy Story and playing with animals.
Casey Crown, Officiant
- Casey is the one to blame for the meeting of the bride and groom! Casey is studying education at Boise State University. She resides in Idaho with her husband and puppy. She enjoys volunteering, hiking, and crafts. Casey is also the online chair of Boise's Relay for Life and raised over $1,000 for the American Cancer Association.
Audrey Malone, Wedding Coordinator
- Audrey is a good friend of the bride and groom. She is the administrative assistant of the University of Alaska Anchorage Biological Sciences Department. Audrey is also an advisor for Alpha Phi Omega. While Audrey and Mandy enjoy Turbo Kick workouts together, she and Chris enjoy "friendly" banter on politics, religion, and philosophy. She and her husband reside in Anchorage, along with Hobbes and Marx (the cats named after philosophers) and Jackson (the dog named after the 7th president and the founder of the modern democratic party, Andrew Jackson).
